LaiQa Joins the Photonics & Quantum Impact Cluster (PQI)

The Photonics21 and the Quantum Flagship communities have announced the launch of the Photonics & Quantum Impact Cluster (PQI Cluster), a collaborative initiative bringing together leading Horizon Europe projects working at the forefront of photonics and quantum technologies.

The LaiQa Project is proud to be part of this new cluster, which gathers 11 Horizon Europe projects addressing critical challenges in quantum and photonic technologies.

The PQI Cluster connects projects working across a wide range of cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of Europe’s digital and technological sovereignty. These include:

  • Emerging photonic platforms for next-generation integrated systems

  • Optical clocks delivering unprecedented precision

  • Widely tunable lasers for advanced communications

  • Reconfigurable data-center photonic networks

  • Advanced nanofabrication and photonic integration technologies

  • Enabling hardware for quantum computing and quantum communications

By bringing together complementary expertise from research institutions, industry, and technology developers, the cluster aims to accelerate innovation and maximize the impact of EU-funded research.

Through structured knowledge exchange, joint dissemination activities and collaborative engagement with stakeholders, the PQI Cluster will foster stronger connections across Europe’s photonics and quantum ecosystem.

For LaiQa, participation in the cluster provides an important opportunity to collaborate with leading initiatives developing key technologies for secure quantum communication and photonic integration.

Working together, the cluster partners aim to amplify research impact and strengthen Europe’s leadership in next-generation photonics and quantum technologies.

The PQI Cluster brings together the following Horizon Europe projects:

Together, the PQI Cluster partners are shaping the future of Europe’s photonics and quantum technology landscape.
